PRESS: Russia to watch FIFA World Cup in 2018 for $32 mln
MOSCOW, Dec 25 (PRIME) -- Russian television channels will pay U.S. $32 million to FIFA for the rights to broadcast football matches of the 2018 World Cup, which the country will host, business daily Vedomosti reported on Monday.
In addition to the amount, $4 million will be paid for the Confederations Cup, which Russia hosted earlier in 2017, as an employee of a channel and a source close to FIFA told Vedomosti.
The rights were granted to the 2 Sport 2 consortium, representing Channel One, VGTRK, and Match TV.
The channels can broadcast matches via the TV, the Internet, mobile platforms, and the radio.
